Many visitors gathered around the stages, each offering its own unique appeal, to watch karate kata (form) demonstrations, dance performances, and koto (Japanese harp) performances.

The onigiri workshop, always a crowd favourite, was a big hit once again! The participants’ unique personalities shone through in the way they added salt and rolled the seaweed. It was impressive to see them create their own original onigiri.

Japan Food Lovers offered tarako takikomi gohan (Japanese rice dish with pollock roe) and rice cooker pancakes at the tasting corner. Drawn by the savoury aroma and fluffy texture, visitors reached for the samples one after another.

The original fans decorated with hand-drawn illustrations, along with participants dressed in colourful yukata (summer kimono), added to the festive atmosphere of the venue.

Smiles were everywhere as everyone danced in a circle during the Bon Odori (Japanese festival dance), filling the entire venue with a joyful sense of unity.

The Panasonic microwave ovens and rice cookers were put to good use in the cooking demonstration. The ginger miso salmon dish, which is also introduced on the recipe page below, was served using meal kits from our partner Prepped, and attracted a lot of attention from visitors. The Managing Director from Prepped also participated and helped to make the demonstration a success.
